revision 2024-03 changes (REF)

  • Internal screws > external screws. Initially the board had some small parts that helped close it internally but they are too much of a PITA. We have decided to change them and move to external screws. We will use nice screws and will try our best to include them in the design. This is also done to improve the sound of the board.

  • During our testing we discovered that the Geon feet were introducing some weird vibrations that were causing hollowness. The board still sounded good but when we removed the feet and used adhesive feet that are a bit thicker the sound improved significantly. We are certain this is due to the thickness of the feet being too small, which makes the bottom of the board rest on the table causing the hollowness. Please see attached render of the new rubber feet.

  • I have increased the front height of the board slightly to improve the sound near the spacebars. We all know that split designs tend to sound dead in that area due to the small thickness so this will mitigate this issue.

  • I have added EC compatibility. The EC plate will be top-mounted and it will not interfere in any way with the MX mount. The EC kit will come with a PCB, plate, hardware and you will have to purchase everything else. I am working with Cipulot to finish things and I will share prototype photos once we receive everything.

  • I know people sometimes like to force-break their boards so we are including some orings with every board that will go around the screws to allow for those who want to force break it to be able to do it. This is not required but in the event anyone wants to use it, they can.

  • Because PCBs sometimes come with small protrusions where mousebites are, I have reduced the footprint of the PCB by around .5 mm to make sure this causes no issues when asembling the board.

  • Case screws are now M2.5, not M2. Bigger is always better
