GSK Christmas MMXXV - Maricorn
This one comes from the folklore of Mari Lwyd, a Welsh tradition centered around a decorated horse's skull mounted on a poll. It roams villages at night around Christmas time, accompanied by a party of people who knock on doors and demand entry. What follows is a series of back and forth poetic duels, which ideally end up with the Mari party being allowed inside for banter, food, and of course, drinking!
In a way, it is basically winter knocking at your door, half-death, half-joke, demanding poetry and chaos before it can grant blessing!
