Typebox is a full-size 101800 keyboard design that combines vintage hardware influences, modern functionality, and a carefully engineered typing experience.

Born from a fascination with the tools, technology, and design ideas that shaped earlier hardware generations, Typebox explores how those influences can be reinterpreted for a contemporary workspace. The aim was to create a commanding desktop centerpiece that combines a sculptural form, refined ergonomics, rich acoustics, and intuitive controls for both creative workflows and everyday use. Developed through extensive prototyping and refinement, Typebox brings together a carefully engineered internal structure, custom acoustic tuning, integrated control elements, and thoughtful details across every surface. More than just a keyboard, it is designed as a complete interface for interaction, creativity, and daily computing. With customizable configurations, premium materials, and a focus on balancing form and function, Typebox offers a unique platform for those who value both performance and character in their workspace.

Colorways

Six colorways are available: Moloko, Moonwalker, Mellotron, Dystopia, Mera, and Ridge.

Mellotron represents the other side of the spectrum to the Moloko colourway, with its own distinct character and identity. Designed to be bold, playful, and expressive, it is the kind of piece that immediately stands out on your desk and invites curiosity. The colour palette draws inspiration from the vibrant appliances and kitchenware of the 1970s, an era where everyday objects were given personality through distinctive colors and forms. Like those objects, Typebox is deliberately overbuilt, designed to provide a reliable and lasting experience for years to come. Mellotron is hYmn's signature colourway, best representing the playful spirit of retro-inspired design and the direction the line continues to explore and refine in future creations.

Our aim was to create different pricing tiers for everyone without making the lower-priced editions feel like a compromise. To give you a weight estimate: aluminium editions reach 3kg built, copper are around 6kg when assembled and built.

US customers happy info: As of June 24, keyboards shipped from Germany are once again subject to the standard Most-Favored-Nation (MFN) duty rate (0% import tariff) rather than the previously announced reciprocal tariffs. This means no additional U.S. tariff is currently expected on our keyboards.

Exclusivity

Due to local manufacturing and some locally made surprises we plan to include with the Moloko and Moonwalker editions, those editions are exclusive to the werk.technica store. The stock on copper variants remains very limited. Moonwalker variant will have a very limited stock similar to BHS
